This piece was mostly written in the sitting area underneath the breakfast room of the Hotel Nes Amsterdam. The descending lines are reminiscent of melodic material in “Laughter, if you slow it down, always turns to sobbing” and the ascending lines are a paean to the utter adorable-ness of Grogu (“baby Yoda, baby Yoda, baby Yoda, aah!”).

The title is also a nod to Kniha smíchu a zapomnění by Milan Kundera.
