ENGLISH EDI - UNIVERSAL ISLAMIC EDUCATION CENTRE -Developing Digital Literacy for Islamic Enterprenuers in the Islamic Economy
Preface
The idea for this book emerged from a deep concern: that the Muslim Ummah risks being left behind in the digital revolution unless we adopt technology in a way that aligns with our values, principles, and vision for justice and prosperity. At the same time, it emerged from hope—the hope that we can, with courage and creativity, reclaim our historical position as a knowledge-driven, ethically grounded civilisation.
The Universal Islamic Cyber Education Centre (Uni-ICE) is more than just a concept. It is a call to action. It is a model of educational transformation designed to serve the needs of a rising generation of Islamic entrepreneurs, educators, and professionals who must navigate a fast-changing world with clarity, dignity, and faith.
This book presents a roadmap. It proposes a structure, a curriculum, and an implementation plan that draws from the best of Islamic tradition and modern digital innovation. We discuss the potential of cyber education to eliminate barriers, increase inclusivity, and revive a culture of integrated knowledge—a hallmark of classical Islamic civilization. We also confront the challenges—technological, institutional, and ethical—that must be addressed to ensure the success of such a centre.
Each chapter builds on real concerns and opportunities, and is written in simple English to ensure accessibility for teachers, students, policy makers, and professionals alike. We believe this book will contribute to the global discourse on Islamic education and serve as a foundation for launching meaningful programs in both urban centres and underserved communities.
It is with humility and deep conviction that we offer this book to the Ummah. May it serve as a guide, a reference, and a source of inspiration for all who believe in the power of education, ethics, and enterprise to shape a better future.
