A Shock of Corn - the PDF eBook

A Shock of Corn, by Jonny Griffiths

Roddy Smith is an only child, seventeen, with an unconventional, some might say subversive, approach to life. He lives with his parents, but feels suffocated; he longs to leave home, but with no serious job, how can he? His mother Miriam is the worrying type, and she won't make it easy for him...

But then he hits eighteen. Roddy can now legally place a bet at the bookies, and he donates his winnings to the UK Goverment to help pay off the National Debt. His unusual letter is fielded by Julian, a Whitehall mandarin, who senses trouble. He decides to learn a little more about Roddy...

A novella, primarily for young adults, of around 40 000 words. Published in association with Silver Crow Books.
