Area of Composite Figures Matching Activity | With and Without Circles
Help students practice finding the area of composite figures with this Area of Composite Figures Matching Activity. Students work through figures made from more than one shape, including triangles, parallelograms, trapezoids, and circles.
Students can start at any problem, solve for the area, and then connect their pieces by matching each answer to the next problem. The matching format works like a domino-style activity and gives students a built-in way to check their work as they continue through the set.
Two versions are included so you can choose the level that best fits your students. One version includes composite figures with circles, and the other version does not include circles. The problems are similar between the versions, giving you flexibility for practice, review, differentiation, or reteaching.
Students can glue their completed chain onto construction paper, making this an easy option for displaying student work around the room.
