BRANDY BUTTER HAT :: .pdf knitting pattern

A comfortable beanie-style hat with a folded ribbed brim and gorgeous trimmings. Cast on using a sparkly lurex yarn, and top it off with a large pompom. At the centre is a twisted diamond cable motif, framed by columns of 2x2 rib. The back is worked in plain stocking stitch.

This pattern is written for 3 sizes, and includes both written and charted cable directions

Yarn: Worsted-weight wool.
Quince & Co. Lark (100% American wool, 123m/134yd per 50g hank) in shades Aleutian, Audoin & Barolo. 
Rico Creative Lamé (38% Polyamide, 62% Polyester, 135m/25g ball) in Gold. This is a 4-ply weight lurex yarn used held double, since worsted-weight sparkly yarn can be harder to source.
Gauge: 19 stitches and 27 rows = 10 cm/4" in Stocking Stitch in the round
Needles: 5mm and 4.5mm needles for knitting in the round, or your size to obtain gauge stated
Sizes: to fit head circumference 52 (56, 60)cm / 20.5 (22, 23.5)"
