This is my personal response to the Digital Literary Atlas of Wales and its Borderlands Project. I will be of interest to everyone looking for ways of generating ideas and creating work that moves beyond the flat pictorial plane into unexpected materials. The use of light to create a focus on the work and the fragmentation of the image challenge the conventional linear process of generating an image. The work which is in many ways illustrational in its intention now has aspects that challenge us and add agency to the materials.
