The Hungry Vault

For fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman, you'll love this survival LitRPG sequel where even a night's rest comes with a bill—and the people collecting have teeth.

The Wayfinder Compact escaped Carrow Deep. Niko Venn would appreciate a few days to recover. The next Vault is being sold in sixteen days, and the people trapped inside are listed as livestock.

An appeal takes four months.

Niko has a rescue writ, a battered crew, and twelve chits to pay for rest in a place that charges by the person. He also has strict instructions not to take any salvage. Apparently saving lives becomes complicated when someone else owns the bread.

Hollowmere runs on rations, ruthless accounting, and rules designed to make hungry people cheaper. To bring its residents home, the Compact will need new skills, old tricks, and enough trust to keep moving when the plan stops feeding them.

The Ledger will record every expense. Niko intends to make sure it records every name.

The Hungry Vault is Book 2 of The Wayfinder Compact: tactical dungeon survival, hard-earned progression, dark humor, and a crew learning just how expensive doing the right thing can get.
