Design Decision Journal
Design Decision Journal
Record the reason behind the design.
Keep design decisions organized, traceable, and connected to your drawings. Design Decision Journal brings a searchable decision register into AutoCAD, helping architects and drafters document client preferences, design reasoning, alternatives, and follow-up actions.
From kitchen layouts to window placement and exterior finishes, keep a clear record of what was decided—and why.
Features include:
- Detailed decision records: Capture titles, summaries, rationale, alternatives considered, and follow-up actions.
- Review tracking: Record reviewer names, dates, priorities, and sheet or detail references.
- Six decision statuses: Proposed, Under Review, Accepted, Rejected, Superseded, and Archived.
- Drawing-linked markers: Place numbered markers, select them to access linked records, and navigate to saved locations.
- Version history: Inspect the current entry and up to 20 retained prior versions.
- Search and filtering: Find decisions by text or status.
- CSV export: Export all decisions, with the option to include retained history.
- Drawing-based storage: Keep journal records and markers with your saved DWG.
