15 Christmas Story Coloring Pages – Hand-Drawn Printable PDF with Bible Verses
Christmas Story Coloring Pages help children explore the birth of Jesus through creative, screen-free activities. This 15-page hand-drawn PDF collection features Gabriel’s visit to Mary, the journey to Bethlehem, Jesus in the manger, shepherds hearing the good news, and wise men bringing gifts.
A grandmother sharing the story with children opens and closes the collection, connecting the Bible scenes with family storytelling today. Every page includes a Scripture quotation and reference.
Approachable for younger children to notice the baby, animals, and familiar Nativity figures while a grown-up reads with them.
Engaging enough for older kids to explore the shepherds’ journey, patterned clothing, and a busy Bethlehem street. Thoughtful enough for Sunday School, Advent activities, homeschool Bible time, and family Christmas coloring.
What's Included
🟡 First Listeners & Nativity Beginnings (Pages 1–5) introduce the story through a family gathering and familiar Bible scenes. A grandmother reads to children gathered around her, Gabriel speaks to Mary, and Joseph leads a donkey carrying Mary toward Bethlehem. Baby Jesus sleeps in a manger, followed by a young shepherd resting beneath the stars with a lamb on his chest. These pages offer clear figures and objects to notice, with larger areas and optional smaller details to color.
🟠 Angels, Shepherds & the Journey to Jesus (Pages 6–10) bring movement and more people into the pictures. Mary and Joseph stand at a doorway with their donkey, an angel appears to the shepherds, and a group of angels fills the sky. The shepherds hurry toward Bethlehem before gathering around Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Ideal for children who enjoy following a sequence and talking about what the people in each scene see and do.
🔴 Wise Men, Bethlehem & Sharing the Story (Pages 11–15) offer fuller scenes and opportunities to revisit the account. Wise men travel on camels and present their gifts inside a house. A detailed Bethlehem street includes market stalls, a well, and a child using a crutch. Mary holds Jesus in a quiet scene before the collection ends with a grandmother telling the story to children, including a girl using a wheelchair, surrounded by pictures of key events.
Why Teachers and Parents Love This
This collection pairs Nativity story coloring pages with Scripture references that make it easy to choose a passage for reading aloud. Teachers can use the shepherd scenes for a Sunday School sequencing activity, while parents and homeschool families can explore a few pages at a time during Advent.
The storytelling scenes center Black children and a grandmother, with natural hairstyles, headwraps, and disability inclusion appearing within the collection. Children have opportunities to see themselves as listeners, question-askers, and storytellers.
The illustrations are artistic interpretations with traditional visual details. The pages are not arranged in a strict timeline, so adults can select and reorder them to suit the passage they are reading.
How to Use It
After purchasing, download your PDF and print your chosen pages using your printer’s fit-to-page setting.
Use Pages 7, 9, and 10 to follow the shepherds from hearing the news to finding Jesus. Pair Pages 11–12 with the wise men’s account in Matthew 2, or use the circular pictures on Page 15 to help children recall different parts of the story.
Read the printed verses together and explain unfamiliar words. You can also look up each reference in your preferred Bible translation. Younger children can point to a person or animal while a grown-up tells the story; older children can add a sentence describing what happens.
