In the Forest of Vrindavana - devotional story for children
A sweet story that describes how Krishna spends his time in the forest, looking after the cows with the cowherd boys, as described in the Srimad Bhagavatam.
I have written the story as a narrative mime, which means that as it is read aloud, the children can follow it by acting out the different movements and actions through mime. This is a very effective way to easily involve young children in dramatic activities because it feels like play.
Young children naturally love to imitate others. We can use this natural tendency to engage them creatively and guide them toward meaningful, beneficial activities, such as acting out Krishna’s pastimes.
Of course, you can also simply read the story to the children without the dramatic element.
