About this song:
Everything You're Carrying is an original tune that was originally written for a stewardship campaign in 2023, and won the Convergence Music Project songwriting contest in 2026. It works especially well as an offering song, but also fits for confession & forgiveness or even the hymn of the day. The verses feature an optional echo voice, and there are also optional vocal harmonies and a C instrument descant that give this song the ability to work as a solo or as a congregational hymn with full band.
The lyrics focus on God's ability to meet us where we are, which is an invitation to bring our full selves to God---our shortcomings, for forgiveness and growth; our strengths, for service to God and Creation.
