The Number Line of Life

**What happens when life subtracts more than you were prepared to lose?**

*The Number Line of Life: Absorbing Subtraction* uses the familiar mathematical number line—negative, zero, and positive—to explore loss, recovery, resilience, margin, and personal resurrection.

Through the System 9 framework, Darren Ramon Kelley introduces **Negative Land, Zero Land, and Positive Land** as ways of understanding where we are in different areas of life—and where we may be headed.

At the center of the book is a simple principle:

**Position tells you where you are. Direction tells you where you are going.**

The book also explores the connection between the geometric number line and the Christian Cross, adding a vertical dimension of faith, meaning, purpose, grace, and transformation.

*The Number Line of Life* is not a mathematics textbook. It is a framework for understanding what happens when life moves us left—and how we recover, rebuild margin, change direction, and discover that sometimes the goal is not returning to who we were.

Sometimes the goal is becoming someone new.
