Lily was in a bad mood today. Her boyfriend Jack, who she had been dating for two years, had gotten drunk and made a pass at another girl at the bar last night. When Lily confronted him about it, Jack tried to play it off, saying he was just "being friendly". But Lily knew better.

"Fucking men, they're all the same," Lily muttered as she stomped into the kitchen. She was fuming.

Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. A dark, devious spark of inspiration. She knew it was wrong, that it crossed a serious line. But in that moment, consumed by jealousy and anger, it felt so deliciously tempting.

Lily went to the bookshelf and pulled out her grandmother's old spellbook. The thing was thick with age, its pages yellowed and crackling. Lily had never really believed in magic before. But apparently her grandmother had been a real witch. There were spells in this book for all sorts of things...including shrinking people down to the size of insects.

Hands shaking slightly, Lily flipped to the appropriate page and began chanting the words, feeling the magic begin to build inside her. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at once. She had never attempted real magic before.

As the final syllable left her lips with a soft pop, a wave of otherworldly energy washed over her. Lily gasped and staggered back. That had actually worked! Holy shit.

Just then, Jack stumbled into the kitchen, groggy from his hangover. "Babe, I'm so sorry about last night, I was an asshole..."

He froze as he took in Lily's wild, unhinged expression and the crackling magic still swirling in the air between them. "L-Lily? What's going on? What did you do?"

"Surprise, Jacky," Lily said with a manic giggle. "I shrunk you. You're fucking tiny now."

Jack looked down at himself in dawning horror as he began to shrink before Lily's eyes, his screams growing higher and squeakier. In seconds, he was no bigger than Lily's thumb.

She plucked him up between her fingers and held him close to her face, grinning wickedly. "Aww, you're so cute and little now! Don't worry baby, I'll take good care of you..."

Jack cowered in her grip, too shocked to even scream anymore. This couldn't be happening. His own girlfriend had actually shrunk him with magic, like something out of a bad fantasy novel.

Lily carried the miniscule Jack into the living room and unceremoniously dumped him onto the carpet. "There, that's a good little boyfriend. Stay put!"

And with that, she headed out to run some errands, leaving Jack alone and terrified, all alone on the floor. He had absolutely no idea what Lily planned to do with him now. But he had a feeling he wasn't going to like it.

Hours passed. An eternity for someone Jack's new size. He tried to stand, but the fibers of the carpet were like trees to him now. He couldn't make any progress at all.

Just as Jack was starting to lose hope, he heard the front door open. "Mom? Is that you?" he called out. But of course, no one could hear his tiny voice.

Jack saw a pair of white wooden Swedish clog sandals come into view, attached to long tanned legs. It was Lily's mom, Diane. She was a sexy older woman who always dressed in a provocative style despite her age. Today she wore a short flowy dress that showed off lots of leg.

Jack's heart sank. In his current state, her engulfing shadow could smother him. And the impact of one of her footsteps would surely flatten him like a bug. He had to hide.

But the carpet was too deep, the fibers too thick for him to push through in time. Jack was trapped out in the open, too tiny and helpless to escape. All he could do was pray Diane wouldn't notice the tiny figure struggling in the carpet...

Diane walked further into the room, getting closer and closer to where Jack lay prone. "Lily honey, I'm home! Did you hear your father and I got a hot air balloon ride for our anniversary this weekend?"

She stepped right over Jack, her sandal coming down barely an inch from his head. He squeezed his eyes shut...
