I can tell there's a story. Tell me more!

The Taryn Beanie is named after an incredibly brave little girl I know who battled a lethal brain tumor and won, with the help of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the mercy of God. In honor of her fight, I created the Taryn Beanie, which features a panel of climbing dandelion stitches, symbolizing hope rising.

What's in this pattern?

What do I need to make this beautiful beanie?
  • 175 / 150 / 145 / 140 / 125 / 95 yards worsted weight yarn (in order of largest to smallest size). I used Knitcircus Yarns Panoramic Gradient Ringmaster in "Hopeless Romantic" for my sample.

  • 3.5 mm/US 4 16” circular needles (or size needed to match gauge) for body
  • Optional: 3.5 mm/US 4 double pointed needles for decrease (not necessary if you are able to do Magic Loop decrease with circular needle)
  • Stitch marker (STRONGLY recommended)
  • Sharp scissors
  • Yarn needle
  • Tape measure/ruler/gauge swatch ruler
