Move With Confidence Prolapse Guide
Move with Confidence
A Practical Guide to Understanding Prolapse, Returning to Exercise and Building Confidence in Your Body
A pelvic organ prolapse diagnosis doesn't mean you have to stop exercising or give up the activities you love.
Whether you've recently been diagnosed or have been living with prolapse for years, Move With Confidence will help you understand your symptoms, build confidence and help you return to exercise safely.
Created by Sarah Thorne, Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, this 75-page practical guide combines evidence-informed pelvic health advice with realistic exercise strategies that you can apply in everyday life.
Instead of telling you what to avoid, you'll learn how to work with your body—not against it—so you can stay active with confidence.
IS THIS GUIDE FOR YOU?
This guide is for you if you:
✔ Have been diagnosed with pelvic organ prolapse.
✔ Feel worried about making your symptoms worse through exercise.
✔ Have been told to "just avoid exercise" but want a more practical approach.
✔ Want to return to walking, running, strength training or Pilates with confidence.
✔ Feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice online.
✔ Want to understand your body and feel in control again.
WHAT THIS GUIDE WILL HELP YOU DO
Move With Confidence isn't about giving you a list of exercises to follow. It's about giving you the knowledge, tools and confidence to understand your body, reduce fear and return to exercise in a way that works for you.
With this guide, you'll:
✔ Understand your body and what a prolapse diagnosis really means—in simple, non-medical language that helps you feel informed, not overwhelmed.
✔ Reduce fear and uncertainty by understanding why symptoms can change and what may be influencing them.
✔ Discover how your whole body can impact your prolapse symptoms, including the role of posture, movement, strength, recovery and everyday habits—not just your pelvic floor.
✔ Understand how your breathing, diaphragm, deep core and pelvic floor work together to support your body during movement and everyday life.
✔ Learn that pressure is a normal part of movement. Rather than avoiding it, you'll learn how to understand and manage pressure more effectively, helping you feel more confident during exercise and daily activities.
✔ Know where to start with exercise, whatever your current symptoms or fitness level, and learn how to progress in a way that feels right for your body.
✔ Recognise the lifestyle factors that can influence your symptoms, including bowel health, sleep, stress, recovery and hydration.
✔ Build the confidence to make informed decisions about movement, so you can stop second-guessing every activity and start trusting your body again.
✔ Develop a realistic, sustainable approach to exercise that helps you keep doing the activities you love with confidence.
This guide takes a whole-person approach, recognising that confidence, education, movement, lifestyle and pelvic health all play an important role in managing prolapse. Rather than focusing on avoiding exercise, you'll learn practical strategies that allow you to continue moving in a way that feels safe, enjoyable and sustainable.
Whether your goal is walking, strength training, running, Pilates, the gym or simply feeling more confident in everyday life, Move with Confidence will give you the tools to understand your body and move forward with greater confidence.
WHY THIS GUIDE IS DIFFERENT
If you've searched online for prolapse advice, you've probably come across conflicting information.
Some women are told to stop exercising altogether. Others are told to simply "do your pelvic floor exercises" and hope for the best.
Move With Confidence takes a different approach.
This guide is built around the belief that movement is important for your physical and mental wellbeing. Rather than avoiding exercise, you'll learn how to understand your body, adapt your training when needed and build confidence over time.
You'll discover practical, evidence-informed strategies that fit into real life—whether your goal is walking, strength training, running, Pilates or simply feeling stronger in everyday life.
Because having a prolapse shouldn't stop you from living an active, strong and fulfilling life.
