Soft Skills at Work Mini Bundle: Task Boxes and Self-Monitoring for Job Skills, Ages 14 to 21
This soft skills at work mini bundle brings together five job skills resources for the habits that keep students working: behaving well on the job, following directions, talking with people face to face, and checking their own on task habits.
I grouped them so a teacher can teach the soft skills side of a job in one plan, from the classroom to the job site.
What’s included:
• Workplace Behavior Task Box | Job Skills Soft Skills for Transition
• Following Directions on the Job Task Box | Job Skills for Transition
• Talking at Work Task Box | Face to Face Job Skills for Transition
• Student Self Monitoring Checklists | On Task Behavior + Job Site Self Check
• Job Site Self Monitoring Checklists + Daily Work Log | Transition + Vocational
How to use it: Here is a 3 week order that works well.
• Week 1: Workplace Behavior Task Box and Student Self Monitoring Checklists. Learn what good work behavior looks like, and start a daily on task self check.
• Week 2: Following Directions on the Job Task Box and Talking at Work Task Box. Practice taking directions and talking with coworkers, customers, and supervisors face to face.
• Week 3: Job Site Self Monitoring Checklists + Daily Work Log. Use the work log and self checks at a real job site, and compare student and staff ratings.
The three task boxes each have Level A, Level B, and Level C cards, so every student can start where they are. The two checklist sets give students a way to check themselves, and give staff a way to fade support.
Who it’s for: High school special education teachers, 18 to 21 program teachers, job coaches, and paras preparing students ages 14 to 21 for work experience and community jobs.
Format: Printable PDFs, US Letter, 78 pages in all. Each resource downloads as its own file.
How this is different: Soft Skills Scenario Cards | 40 Job Skills Situations | High School SPED gives discussion scenarios. This bundle is hands on: leveled task boxes students work through, plus self monitoring checklists and a daily work log they use themselves.
