Spooky Spotter Ranger Pack: Halloween Calm-Classroom Printables (Samhain Night)
Keep the classroom calm this Halloween, and give pupils something to collect while you do.
Sneaky Samhain is a free noise-calming app for the classroom board. When the room is quiet, Irish night creatures come out at a misty lough: bats, a black cat, a hedgehog, foxes, owls and, if the class stays very calm, legends like the púca and the each-uisce. When a creature stays for 8 calm seconds, it is Spotted!
This printable pack brings the creatures to pupils' desks. When the class spots a creature on the board, pupils find its page in their booklet, colour it in and stamp their chart. Spot all 14 and the class earns a certificate.
What's inside (42 A4 pages, PDF):
- Colour field guide (15 pages): a cover and one page per creature, with its picture, tier, rarity, three child-friendly facts and a "first spotted on" line.
- Colouring and stamp booklet (16 pages): a name cover, a spotting chart with a stamp circle for each creature, and a colouring page per creature with a fact and a stamp box.
- Spotter cards (4 pages): 14 collectable trading cards, four per page with cut lines.
- Wall posters (5 pages): Quiet Ranger Rules (Calm, Rustle, Too loud!, Nap Time) and a poster for each tier: Night Scouts, Moonlight Wanderers, Misty Marvels and Samhain Legends.
- Certificates (2 pages): a Quiet Ranger Award for pupils and a Master Spook Spotters certificate for the whole class.
Good to know:
- For ages 4–12. Friendly, not scary.
- Real Irish wildlife (pipistrelle bat, hedgehog, Irish hare, badger, barn owl, otter, red deer) and folklore (púca, will-o'-the-wisp, each-uisce), with simple facts. A natural fit for science and nature lessons about living things and habitats, and for Halloween in Ireland.
- Print the field guide and posters in colour. The colouring booklet is black and white.
- Works on its own, but it's best with the free app at sneakysafari.app. The app needs no account and records nothing: the microphone only measures loudness, inside the browser.
