Thirumanthiran _Thiirumoolar

Thirumoolar, also known as Tirumular, was a revered Tamil Siddhar, a mystic and poet, known for his work Tirumantiram, a key text in Tamil Shaiva Siddhanta. He is considered one of the 18 Siddhars and one of the 63 Nayanmars, devotees of Lord Shiva.

• Origin and Journey:
• Initially known as Sundaranathar, he hailed from the Kailash range and was a disciple of Nandhi Deva. He traveled to Mount Kailash, where Shiva initiated him, and then journeyed to Tamil Nadu to meet Sage Agastya. 
• The Cowherd Incident:
• A popular legend describes how, near Sathanur, he found a dead cowherd named Moolan and, moved by the cows' distress, transferred his soul into Moolan's body to comfort them. He then adopted the name Thirumoolar. 
• Tirumantiram:
• Thirumoolar's magnum opus, Tirumantiram, is a collection of over 3,000 verses exploring various aspects of spirituality, yoga, and the Tamil Shaiva Siddhanta philosophy. 
• Spiritual Insights:
• Thirumoolar's writings emphasize the oneness of God, the manifestation of God in different forms, the importance of yoga and meditation, and the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. 
• Siddha Medicine:
• He is also recognized as a Siddha doctor, integrating spiritual and medicinal practices.
