Elements of Art Project Art Lessons Art Activities First Week Art Sub Plans
This Elements of Art Booklet is a structured, low-prep way to teach the 7 Elements of Art: color, value, line, shape, form, space and texture. Each element has a student-friendly introduction, a step-by-step art tutorial and a page where students create their own artwork.
It is designed for grades 3 to 8, with scaffolded projects that support independent thinking and artistic growth. Print and digital formats are included, so it works in the classroom, from an art cart, for distance learning or at home, at the start of the year or as a mid-year refresher.
WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING
★★★★ “This Elements of Art unit is comprehensive, engaging, and easy to use! Students loved the art activities and were highly engaging in not only the practice of the elements but the learning process as well. Thank you!!” Molly P.
WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE PDF, POWERPOINT AND GOOGLE SLIDES)
- PDF Booklet to print as a student workbook
- PowerPoint Presentation with visuals for each element
- Google Slides Version for digital learning, distance education or homeschool
- Lessons for all 7 Elements of Art: color, value, line, shape, form, space and texture

HOW TO USE IT
Print the PDF as a complete student workbook or use pages individually for interactive notebooks, portfolios, bulletin boards, back-to-school lessons or a full Elements of Art unit. Keep a copy in your sub binder or art cart, since a non-specialist substitute can teach it from the clear instructions.
Share the PowerPoint or Google Slides for at-home, virtual or hybrid lessons. Students can type into the text boxes or upload photos of their artwork, and it works in Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams.
