Twisted

Brioche increases and decreases create twisting lines on this twisted moebius cowl!

Worked in the round from a moebius cast-on, this cowl has two size options and two yarn weight options.

Yarn

DK small and DK Large can each be knitted with just 50g of each colour.

Aran Large can be knitted with 100g of each colour.

DK Small: Town End Yarns, Poldale DK (Pure Falklands Wool, 122m per 50g),

LC: Light Blue, 1 x 50g ball, DC: Damson, 1 x 50g ball

LC: WYS Pure DK (100% Falklands Wool, 112m per 50g), Rosehip, 1 x 50g ball

DC: Debbie Bliss Cashmerino DK (55% Merino Wool, 33% Microfibre, 12% Cashmere, 110m per 50g), Black, 1 x 50g ball

Aran Large: Cat & Sparrow, Toasty Aran (70% Bluefaced Leicester, 30% Alpaca, 175m per 100g),

LC: PistachiOMG, 1 x 100g skein

DC: Tight Fitting Jeans, 1 x 100g skein

Needles

DK: 5mm, short tips on 80cm cable, 1 x 6mm needle (for cast off only)

Aran: 7mm, 100cm cable, 1 x 8mm needle (for cast off only)

Notions

1 stitch marker

1 lockable stitch marker (for Br4st dec)

Tension

DK: 10cm = 13 sts x 18 rnds over brioche pattern on 5mm needles

Aran: 10cm = 11 sts x 16 rnds over brioche pattern on 7mm needles

Sizing (height x circumference at cast-on line) 

DK Small: 15 x 57 cm

DK Large: 19 x 83 cm

Aran Large: 24 x 99 cm

Notes

2. If using aran-weight yarn, the large size is recommended.
3. Towards the end of each round you will need to pass the ball of yarn not in use through the centre of the moebius ring.
4. Unlike knitting flat brioche, you do not slide your work back along the needle for the DC rows. Simply change colour and work the round again.
5. The direction of the moebius twist is set with the cast-on. It does not matter which direction the twist goes.
