Two-Step Equations Scavenger Hunt Activity gives students a movement-based way to practice solving two-step equations. Students solve equations around the room, follow the answer path, record their route, and use the letters from each stop to reveal the answer to a riddle.

This activity includes 20 two-step equation problems in the forms p(x + q) = r, p(x - q) = r, r = p(x + q), and r = p(x - q). Problems include integers, decimals, and fractions, giving students practice with different number types while solving equations.

Students can begin at any problem around the room. After solving, they use their answer to find the next stop in the scavenger hunt. Each stop gives students a letter. Once students complete the full route, they use the letters in order to discover the answer to the riddle.

Blank workspace pages are included to help students keep their work organized, and a blank route sheet is included so students can track the order of their scavenger hunt. This print-ready activity works well for review days, partner practice, math centers, test prep, sub plans, or getting students up and moving during your equations unit.
