SEPARATE AND SEGREGATED – The Holy Seed Has Mingled by Bro H
When I heard this thing, I tore my garment and my mantle. I pulled the hair from my head and beard And sat down appalled. The holy seed had mingled with the peoples of the lands, And the princes and rulers were chief in this trespass. [Verse 1] Abraham commanded, “Go back to my country and my kindred; Do not take a Canaanite daughter as a wife for Isaac.” Isaac charged Jacob, “Do not take a daughter of Canaan; Go to your mother’s family and take a wife from there.” But Esau took the daughters of the Hittites for his wives; They brought grief of mind to Isaac and Rebekah’s house. He despised the birthright, the household, and the name; What God kept separate, Esau treated as profane. [Chorus] Do not give your daughters to their sons; Do not take their daughters for your own. “For they will turn your sons from following Me And bring their foreign gods into your home.” You have mingled the holy seed With the peoples of the lands. This is not a harmless choice— It is rebellion against God’s command. [Verse 2] At Sinai came the warning, clear enough to understand: “Make no covenant with the people who are dwelling in the land. Do not take their daughters, bowing down before their gods, Lest they turn your sons to worship and their gods become a snare.” Marriage joins the household, worship, offspring, land, and name; Foreign altars follow when the boundary is betrayed. The covenant and inheritance were never ours to trade; A people set apart cannot stay holy when distinction is erased. [Verse 3] Solomon clung to foreign women Yahweh had forbidden: Moabite and Ammonite, Edomite and Sidonian. They turned the wisest king from Yahweh God of Israel; He built high places for their gods before Jerusalem. Chemosh and Molech entered through the marriages he chose; Foreign women turned his heart and brought division to the throne. “Did not Solomon sin by this?” the later warning came; Even him did outlandish women cause to sin, should we do the same? [Chorus] Do not give your daughters to their sons; Do not take their daughters for your own. “They will turn your sons from following Me And bring their foreign gods into your home.” You have mingled the holy seed With the peoples of the lands. This is not a harmless choice— It is rebellion against God’s command. [Bridge] “O my God, I am ashamed to lift my face to You. Our sins have risen over us; our guilt has reached the heavens. After all the mercy shown in leaving us a remnant, Should we break Your commandments and join ourselves again? We have trespassed against our God. Now therefore, make confession. Separate yourselves from the peoples of the land And from the foreign wives; return to covenant order.” [Verse 4] Nehemiah found Judahites with wives from foreign lands; Their children spoke the tongue of Ashdod, not the language of Judah. Their covenant households were being absorbed by foreign peoples; Their fathers’ speech and heritage were fading from their lives. He contended with his people: “What great evil have you done? You shall not give your daughters, nor take their daughters for your sons. Even Solomon, king of Israel, was led to sin by foreign wives.” He cleansed the temple chambers and set the house aright. [Pre-Chorus] Do not mingle what the Lord made holy; Do not blend what He set apart. Marriage joins the seed and household, Worship, heritage, and heart. When the Holy seed is mixed, the line is broken; Continuity cannot remain. What Yahweh separated for His purpose Man has no authority to change. [Final Chorus] Do not give your daughters to their sons; Do not take their daughters for your own. Do not mix the holy seed Or bring a foreign altar home. Guard the covenant household, Your posterity and land. What Yahweh called a great trespass Does not become righteous by the will of man. [Ending] They have dealt treacherously against the Lord. The holiness Yahweh loved was profaned. For they have begotten strange children; Now shall a month devour them; none of them shall remain. Read the Law. Confess the trespass. Cleanse the household. Restore the inheritance. Be holy. Be separate. Obey.
