Hurdle Calculator Program for a MAC
Hurdle Calculator Program
The Hurdle Calculator Program is a data-driven coaching system designed to help hurdle coaches plan smarter practices, analyze race performances, and improve technical consistency in both short and long hurdles.
Built from 14+ years of NCAA Division I coaching experience, this program turns raw times, splits, and data into actionable insights you can immediately apply on the track.
This is not a generic spreadsheet β it is an automated Excel-based coaching tool built with VBA/Macros to save time, remove guesswork, and bring clarity to hurdle development.
What the Program Does
The Hurdle Calculator Program allows coaches to:
- Analyze hurdle races using split and finish times
- Calculate optimal hurdle spacings for practice
- Identify where athletes are gaining or losing time in a race
- Visualize performance trends with charts and graphs
- Design targeted workouts instead of using generic spacings
- Organize athlete data cleanly in one system
Whether you coach 100/110m hurdles or 300/400m hurdles, this program helps you make objective, athlete-specific decisions.
How It Helps Improve Hurdlers
π― Smarter Practice Design
Instead of guessing hurdle spacings, the program uses performance data to generate practice-specific spacing recommendations that better match an athleteβs speed, rhythm, and technical needs.
π Clear Performance Analysis
By entering race data, coaches can:
- Break down races into meaningful segments
- Compare current performances to goal performances
- Track progress over time
- Identify technical breakdown points
π Visual Feedback for Coaching
The program automatically generates charts and visual summaries that make it easier to:
- Communicate feedback to athletes
- Spot trends quickly
- Connect race performance to practice execution
β± Time-Saving Automation
What used to take hours of manual calculations is handled automatically β allowing coaches to spend more time coaching and less time building spreadsheets. Hurdle Splits are gathered by using Dartfish Mobile or Windows based program called Kinovea
