Belal Jahjooh was born in a refugee camp in Gaza, into a family from al-Jura, a fishing village on the Mediterranean that stopped existing in 1948. For more than twenty years he worked with people living through war, displacement and climate change, in over thirty countries. He now lives in Oslo and writes novels about love, exile, family and the sea.
