Full Moon Murder (English)

Here is a story that combines real genealogy with a real case with two different murders in the same place and the years 1932 and 1933. One of the murdered had a husband who had roots in Sweden and in Hasslö since 1630.

The story begins with you getting to know what it was like in Hasslö at slightly different times and until three from the same family leave Hasslö. Three children follow and strangely enough their father who then doesn't care that the wife doesn't go with him. He only returns after 1919 after the wife has died. He himself dies in 1927 in Hasslö.

The oldest of the children is sent over to the USA. She was born in 1872 and leaves in 1888 and without anyone from the family. Since 1890 and 1892 there are two more trips and there are now four people in the USA.

Two children out of three have children while the other family line dies out. More dies out when the woman of the line is murdered and she was already a widow for three years.

The year before, a prominent man had been murdered in 1932 and this triggered a large and expensive hunt for the murderer.

35 police officers and 2,500 interrogations and a large number of properties were searched.

Gun sales increased and so did the demand for guard dogs.

I, Anders Dernback, am part of the Hasslö family and started doing genealogy research in 2012. Through genealogy research, I stumbled upon the case and now have contact with many American relatives (Facebook).
