These Coloring Bookmarks are original, hand-drawn printable bookmarks to color for teachers, art teachers and homeschoolers. Students color cute animals, fantasy characters, whimsical scenes, nature designs, robots, rockets, underwater scenes and more, then cut out a bookmark they can actually keep and use.

It is a calm, low-prep activity for early finishers, reading groups, library time, art centers, quiet work and sub plans. Because the finished product is a bookmark, it also pairs nicely with reading programs, library visits, book bins and literacy routines.

WHAT TEACHERS ARE SAYING

★★★★★ “We used these to create something for our Producers/Consumers unit cumulative activity. The students colored them; then we laminated each one and added a ribbon. They "sold" well at our "Fall in Love with Learning" event. Thanks for creating these!” Cindi M.

WHAT'S INCLUDED (NON-EDITABLE PDF)

  • 1 Cover Page
  • Thumbnail Preview Pages showing the bookmark designs
  • 1 Teacher Information and How to Use Page
  • 9 Printable Bookmark Designs, arranged 4 per page for easy copying, coloring and cutting

Designs shown in the PDF include a cat with hearts, a fairy with a wand, an underwater fish scene, a desert landscape, a monster with a giant eye, a snake wrapped around a book with the word READ, a robot, a rocket in space, a snail with leaves, and a bunny and dragonfly scene.

HOW TO USE IT

Photocopy and cut, or print onto cardstock for stronger bookmarks. After students color, you can laminate them and hole punch the tops and add a ribbon. Students can color with pencil crayon, crayon, felt, watercolor paint, chalk pastel, oil pastel or any medium you wish to use.

The teacher page describes the bookmarks as a peaceful, quiet activity for the classroom or library, and as an art center, time saver or "When You're Done" activity for fast finishers. It encourages students to fill in each part carefully rather than rushing through large areas, which builds fine motor control, focus, careful coloring, creative color choices and personal expression.
