Jamaica is an island nation with a rich history and diverse geography, reflected in its various sites, towns and villages. Some major cities include Kingston, the capital and largest city, a vibrant hub of culture and commerce; Montego Bay, a major tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches; Spanish Town, historically significant, it was Jamaica's former capital; and Portmore, a large coastal city.

The island has a large number of towns and villages, each with its own unique character of towns and villages, each with its own unique character, ranging from fishing villages to market towns and agricultural communities. All these offer a blend of historical significance, cultural richness and natural beauty.

The volume explores some of these sites, towns and villages and tell the story of their inception and significance in the past and the present.
