No Exit - spraypaint and oil pastel on found canvas - 40" X 60 " sealed

There's no story to this artwork apart from the story of my own development as an artist. I've been developing my artistic style for a long time - from painting murals, graffiti and street art - to creating expressive portraits and abstracted scenes from my life in oil pastels, paints and acrylics.

This painting feels like on of those 'breakthrough' moments when several elements of your practice come together - when several artistic paths you've been following or exploring suddenly merge together or all open up into the same clearing. A view emerges that was previously obscured, and something just clicks.

This is one of my favourite paintings I've done to date - and I hope that you love it and get us much from it as I do - not only when I created it, but every time I look at it too.

Painted onto a canvas that I found in the warehouses that also tells it own story with some scuffs and tears along the edges, and a previous painting from an unknown artist hidden beneath the layers of my own.

Primed with three coats of gesso and sealed with acrylic spray varnish.
