Secret Smile Socks - PDF Knitting pattern

The Secret Smile socks are all about joy in daily life! They bring a combination of cute happy little faces and joyful colours to your sock wardrobe.

You can go for a calm and neutral main colour if you want to be able to wear them in serious grown up environments as the smiley faces and stripes will be hidden by your trousers and shoes. Or, you can embrace the joyful vibes and take your pick of your favourite colours (but make sure there’s enough contrast between the colours for the happy faces to show properly!).

The pattern is designed in 3 adult sizes with the flexibility to adapt the length of the leg and foot as needed.

Yarn

MC: 1 100g ball Regia 4ply Uni (4 ply / fingering 75% Superwash Wool, 25% Polyamide). 420 metres (460 yards) / 100 grams in colourway Black (2066).

CC: 1 100g ball Regia 4ply Uni (4 ply / fingering 75% Superwash Wool, 25% Polyamide). 420 metres (460 yards) / 100 grams in colourway Neon Yellow (2090).

Needles

2.25 mm (US 1) DPNs or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge

35 stitches and 44 rounds to 10 cm / 4 in worked in stranded colourwork in the round, after blocking.

35 stitches and 46 rounds to 10 cm / 4 in worked in stocking stitch in the round, after blocking.

We obtained this gauge using 2.25mm needles.

If necessary, change needle size to obtain gauge. Gauge can vary when doing stranded colourwork compared to stocking stitch.

To fit foot Circumference: 16.5 (20.5, 25.5) cm / 6.5 (8, 10) in. These socks are designed with around 10% negative ease.

Sock height: 10 (13, 15) cm / 4 (5, 6) in.

Sock foot length: 17.5 (25, 29.5) cm / 7 (9.75, 11.75) in.
