The Radicalization of Daniel Alan Baker traces a political and personal journey through the U.S. Army Airborne Infantry, homelessness, anarchism, Buddhism, martial arts, the war against ISIS in Rojava, the upheavals surrounding the George Floyd protests and CHAZ/CHOP, federal prosecution and imprisonment, and Daniel Alan Baker’s later movement toward revolutionary communist politics.

This is an autobiographical and political account—not an attempt to turn memory into unquestionable history. Baker distinguishes his firsthand recollections from statements made by others, documentary evidence, and later interpretation wherever those distinctions matter.

The book examines not only what happened, but how those experiences changed his understanding of war, political organization, state power, solidarity, imprisonment, and revolutionary politics.
