This film was made in 2012 mainly for my own amusement after I'd taken early retirement. A little project to experiment with the camera and the software required to stitch it all together. It was filmed using a small digital camera (Canon G9) usually mounted on a tripod inside the car as I carefully drove through the village from different directions.
A few people who saw it were surprisingly complimentary, so I created a DVD and sold it to raise money for charity - from memory I sold about 100 copies and raised around £300.
I was by now rediscovering my love of ornithology and photographing birds and this video ended up stored on a spare hard drive. I rediscovered it and put a few sections on Facebook where again, it generated quite a bit of interest with more people requesting a copy. This was in 2020 and I supplied the films on USB sticks - but the sticks themselves were around £3 each so little profit in it for charity.
I created this Birding in Kent website to try to sell some of my birding videos and decided it was a good platform to offer the Tour of Eastry film as well.
If you enjoy this film then why not try one of the birding films - not just birds but location shots as well, all filmed locally.
