The US Army's 208th Coast Artillery Antiaircaft Regiment arrived in Brisbane, Australia on 10 March 1942. They soon relocated to Townsville where they were responsible for the air defence of the Townsville area.
These official records detail the 208th's journey across the USA to San Francisco then to Brisbane by ship, then on to Townsville, their disposition in the Townsville area and eventual relocation to New Guinea. The 191 page PDF document also contains Rosters of men in the 208th.
