yarn requirements
Approximately 906 (1027, 1148, 1269)[1389, 1510, 1631]{1752, 1873, 1994} yards sport weight yarn, shown in Forest Lane Fiber Co. Rambouillet Sport (100% non-superwash, sport weight wool, 355 yds/100g) in color Blush.
Clearly is knit in the round from the bottom up, the lower body and sleeves are worked separately and joined for the raglan yoke.
The stitces for the hood are picked up around the neck and grafted together with kitchener stitch. The trim is then worked around the hood and neck edge and finished with a sewn tubular bind off.
An allover diamond gansey pattern is worked continuously through the body, sleeves and hood. You will be increasing and decreasing in pattern. You may wish to use st markers to delineate where the whole repeats of the pattern begin and end, this will make it easier to work partial repeats, or if you wish you can work extra sts in stockinette.
You may knit this hoodie with any yarn you wish; however, gansey patterns will show up more with a solid or subtle semi-solid yarn in a lighter color. Some yarns with poor stitch definition will also obscure these knit and purl patterns. Be sure to swatch in the gansey pattern (in the round!) to see how your yarn will work with the pattern.
