Village Blooms – 8 Part Stitchalong Quilt Pattern

Create your own beautiful Village Blooms Quilt, a charming 60" square quilt designed by Fiona Ransley of Designs by Fee in Tasmania, Australia.

Village Blooms is an eight-part stitchalong-style pattern combining some of my favourite traditional techniques, including patchwork, appliqué, English Paper Piecing (EPP) and hand stitching.

The quilt grows gradually from the centre outwards, with each part introducing a new element. Floral appliqué, EPP stars and braids, piano-key piecing, corner appliqué, square-in-a-square blocks and a final hexagon border all come together to create a quilt full of detail and character.

The original quilt was made predominantly using Village Life fabrics by Tilda, together with coordinating white and mustard fabrics. However, Village Blooms would be equally lovely made from your favourite fabric collection or treasured fabrics from your stash.

Skill level: Confident beginner/intermediate and above. Some experience with basic patchwork and hand sewing is helpful, but the different techniques are explained throughout the pattern.
