Efficient Intimacy: Going Deeper
A Greek person says, “Put this on. Try this,” to an English-speaking friend. They're showing enthusiasm, involvement and a desire to share the moment with you.
The problem is that the words sound differently in English. The English speaker hears pressure, overstepping and someone deciding for them.
This makes something in the atmosphere change. One person feels warm and generous, but the other feels managed.
If you’ve lived between Greek and English communication, you know how often this happens.
The challenge is knowing what to do in the moment.
What people said after the last session
- “I really enjoyed the workshop and I believe I learned a lot. Bringing in closer personal relationships adds a level of complexity and intensity to conversations so I'm sure this is going to be useful in helping me to navigate all that.”
- “I really struggled with understanding the dynamics of my relationship, but now I realize that my husband wasn't being rude! He was trying to take care of me!”
- “This explained why so many of my discussions turn into arguments.”
What we do
We take real situations like this and work through them together so you know how to respond while it’s happening, not hours later in the shower replaying the conversation.
What you’ll leave with
- Recognize when a conversation is starting to turn
- Respond clearly in real time
- Adjust tone without losing yourself
- Use language that works in family, work, and everyday life
Who this is for
- Greeks navigating English-speaking environments
- English speakers living or working with Greeks
- Bilingual families and mixed-background couples
- Anyone who’s been misread or has misread someone else
Why live matters
Because you can ask about your own situations, hear others’ examples, and practice responses in real time. I’ve spent years living between both systems and helping people decode these moments.

FAQs
Is this only for couples?
Nope! Many people join because of relationships, but the material also applies to friendships, family dynamics, workplaces, and everyday social situations.
Do I need to speak Greek?
No, the workshop is fully in English. It's is designed for Greeks, English speakers, bilingual people, diaspora Greeks, and anyone navigating these two communication styles. You do not need to speak Greek fluently.
What if I can’t attend live?
Everyone who registers receives the replay, so you can watch afterwards if you can’t join live.
Is this a lecture?
No, this is an interactive workshop. We’ll work through real scenarios, discuss both sides, and look at practical responses you can actually use in the moment.
I already speak both languages fluently. Is this still useful?
Yes! Fluency in a language doesn't mean fluency in the social meanings behind the words. Many misunderstandings happen between people who speak both languages very well. This workshop focuses on tone, expectations, emotional readings, and real-time interactions.
Is this beginner-friendly?
Absolutely! You don’t need a prior knowledge of linguistics, culture theory, or communication models. Everything is explained clearly through real-life examples.
