Lighting Design
Deciding what a show looks like, before anything is hung
A lighting designer decides what a show looks like. Not what fixtures hang where, that comes later, and it comes out of the decision rather than instead of it. The job is to look at a piece of work and say what the audience should see, feel and look at, and then to make a room full of equipment do that.
