Here is PDF file for a pair of knitted fingerless mitts.  These mitts have branches with owls sitting in them.  I used 12, 6/0 glass beads for the owls eyes.  I worked the top and bottom rib in a contrasting color.  This project requires a small amount of lace weight yarn, 400 yards of the main color and about 50 yards of the second color.  Because of this they can be knitted from more percious yarn such as alpaca, yak or cashmere.  Mine are from alpaca.  I used double pointed knitting needles in US sizes 0 and 1.  I usea crochet hook to place the beads as I go, but the tool choice is yours.  These fit a medium woman's hand about 7" around.
The directions are charted with a written guide.  If you have questions or need help, please ask.
