Match Day

Match Day - The Tabletop Football Game (2nd Edition)

Rate any team with three numbers. Roll dice, read the matrix, live a full season. Now in its 2nd Edition - and if you already own Match Day, this update is in your account, free.

Match Day turns any football match into a game you can play at the kitchen table in minutes. Pick two teams, roll the dice, and the match resolves through a rebuilt engine that produces the results real football produces - the goalless slogs, the 2-1 grinds, the occasional 5-1 hiding - in the right proportions. Simulated against tens of thousands of real matches, so your league table ends the season looking like a league table should.

New in the 2nd Edition

Quick Play rebuilt on 3d6 - the new Match Rating Matrix keeps every average where it was but spreads results the way real football does. Around 8% of matches finish 0-0. One in ten is a proper hiding.

Long Play gets the d10 Control Matrix - a full 19x19 table where every attack and defence pairing has its own line. Home advantage arrives in the second half, where it belongs. A red card swings the match by two bands.

Two apps in the box - the League Helper runs whole seasons in your browser (now with points deductions, for leagues where somebody starts on minus eight); Available for the first time, the Long Play app plays every chance with animated dice, extra time and penalties included. Single HTML files - no install, no internet, no accounts.

Rate any league honestly - Book One's rating method gains a Balance Check, so a division you rate yourself plays at its real scoring rate, whether that's the modern Premier League or 1930s England at four goals a game.
