Mod Tweed

The stitch pattern for Mod Tweed was one of those ‘Eureka’ moments when playing with a stitch pattern and colour. By switching a simple slip-stitch pattern from two colours to three, a diagonal honeycomb pattern is created.

Mod Tweed is knit in one piece from the top down, starting with the collar. Short rows are used to shape the collar, and raglan seams are used to define the sleeves. Once the yoke is complete, the sleeve stitches are put on hold while the body is finished. The sleeves are then finished from the underarm down to the cuffs.

On US Size 7 (4.5 mm) needles, after blocking:

16.5 sts/ 36 rows in 4” (10cm) in Slip Stitch Pattern in the Round

Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (100% Wool, Worsted weight), at 140 yards (128 meters) per 50g skein, OR

Any worsted weight yarn that knits to gauge.
