The Antique Maps of Cumberland and Westmorland

The standard reference book for the antique county maps of Cumberland and Westmorland has been updated and expanded for this e-book edition.  In just over 350 pages, it covers the work of about 90 map makers from the mid 16th century to the late 19th century and illustrates over 250 individual maps.

It will be of interest to all collectors of antique maps and to anyone with an interest in local history.  Although it is concerned with the maps of just two northern counties, the material covered is applicable to the maps of any English county for which a specialist publication is not available.
