Unlock Your True Values Workbook
What are your TRUE values?
As a type-A overachiever, I always thought I had mine on lock. That is, until I was in my therapist's office, miserable and burnt out after spending all my 20s chasing success in Hollywood. My therapist suggested that perhaps achievement and success weren't my true value system... because if it were, I wouldn't have to break myself in order to honor it.
Um... pardon me? What values would lead me to fulfillment if not achievement and success?
As it turns out, we often neglect to examine our true value system until we realize we've been following everyone else's but our own. In my case, I had obeyed the cultural paradigm that my worth depended on acquiring as much money, status, and achievement as possible. While many of the values we've absorbed have served us at one point or another, it's worth asking yourself — which of them are truly serving you now?
This workbook is for you if:
- You are doing what you think you're "supposed to" in life, but aren't finding a sustainable or authentic sense of fulfillment or peace
- You continue to repeat patterns believing they will deliver you to "success," but the deep, inner feeling of success remains elusive
- You want to live in alignment with your true values, but aren't sure what they are or how to do so in a way that is practical or meaningful
In my journey to unlock my true values, I came across incredibly powerful tools and lessons. This workbook’s comprehensive exercises and journal prompts will help you clarify from a list of over 200 values what your top 5 true values are. You will also meditate on the values that have falsely guided you up to this point, delving into the meaningful patterns they reveal. Lastly, you will create an inspired plan to implement your true values so that joy, peace, and fulfillment can become an experience that is actually sustainable and authentic to you.
The lessons in these 20 pages have genuinely invigorated my life with clarity, meaning, and excitement. I hope they do the same for you.
Love,
Lindsay
