Many famous cities are full of history, excitement, and glamour.
They are also full of sad people leading quiet, forgotten lives that no one understands, even them.
This short story is mostly horror, somewhat a meditation on that sadness. It lets you feel--I hope--the creepy despair that fills these desperate lives.
