Fructus Hiemis
Mistletoe and snowdrops are synonymous with the season of winter, the pure white of the berries and petals are always a joy to see in the gloom of the shorter days.
I have designed Fructus Hiemis, the fruits of winter, as adornments that you can used to decorate whatever takes your fancy: as a brooch, on a wreath or on a tea cosy.
I have included the pattern for a small tea cosy and the instructions for making a tiny wreath from a 10cm/4in embroidery hoop.
I used Jamieson and Smith 2ply jumper weight to make the samples for the pattern as the wool has a wonderful tactile quality and holds the shape of the pieces so beautifully.
I hope you enjoy experimenting with these lovely winter adornments and that they bring some warmth to your winter months.
