The Lion and the Mouse an Aesops Fable

The Lion and the Mouse is a timeless Aesop’s fable about kindness, humility, and unexpected friendship.

When a mighty lion catches a small mouse, the mouse begs for mercy, promising to help the lion one day in return. Amused by the idea that such a tiny creature could ever assist him, the lion decides to set the mouse free. Later, when the lion gets caught in a hunter’s rope net, the mouse hears his desperate roars and uses its sharp teeth to gnaw through the ropes, freeing the beast.

Moral: No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted—and even the smallest friend can be of great help.
