About:
The rugged landscape of Lettermullan—a village on a small island off the coast of southern Connemara in County Galway, Ireland—is dotted with stones. This brought to mind a field of marled stockinette with bands of eyelets to break it up, like the rocks break up the ground on this small island and inspired the Lettermullan Shawl.

This eyelet and textured DK-weight triangle-shaped shawl—is easy enough for a confident beginner knitter but engaging enough for an advanced one. Written in two sizes, so you can choose what fits best into your wardrobe.

The simplicity of the Lettermullan Shawl allows you to play with yarn choices. It would beautifully highlight a variegated yarn. Or you could play with marling—either by holding two strands of fingering weight yarn together or by introducing a strand of mohair in a contrasting color. You could bulk it up and knit it in worsted weight to have a cozier shawl or just knit it in a tonal for a classic addition to your wardrobe. The possibilities are absolutely endless with this versatile shawl.
