Young Love
At times this painting has served as a soft reminder of the free flowing spirit of a butterfly, and the sacred sanctuaries that they inhabit. It's almost otherworldly, peacefull, and majestic. At the start of making this piece it started as the polar opposite. She was a prisoner, and the cage that kept her small. We are infinite so the concept of being kept is all a game that we take our character(self) through to remember you, you without such a game. So we laugh at what we once thought was fact and ask who taught us that? scratch that, new map, you can breathe now-relax. This peace sitting in the same space as Zahara has helped me to see her in a new light. Along with other eye opening experiences that grace has opened within me. Sometimes God/we/the universe (whatever you believe that equates to peace), have placed us in weird spaces or situations that are good potting soil for our journey. So it helps to step back and acknowledge the ways/waves we have ceiled the walls up on ourselves (very 8 of swords energy), instead of allowing them to be the guide(8 of cups) taking us to new views, places and perspectives that help us nurture ourselves and our journey. Also she is 14x18in a bit on the smaller side of the medium sized canvases.
