Akaroa Shawl
The Akaroa Shawl is a cosy shawl-scarf that works just as well dressed up as it does for everyday wear.
A repeating lace and cable pattern creates an interesting textured fabric of gentle waves and zigzags, while a scalloped edge adds a decorative finish along the two shorter sides of the triangle.
Versatile and easy to style, the shawl can be draped and worn in a variety of ways to suit different looks and occasions.
The pattern takes its name from Akaroa, a charming seaside town in Canterbury, New Zealand

Dimensions
When using the recommended yarn, and gauge of 20 sts and 32 rows per 10cm/ 4 inches, the shawl has approximate length of 165 cm (65 inches) and width of 60 cm (23 5/8 inches).
Yarn
DK to sport-weight yarn can be used, with the yarn choice affecting the finished size and drape of the shawl. The design works well in woollen-spun yarns, which create a soft, gentle fabric when washed and blocked. Worsted-spun yarns will give a different look and feel.
