Tasting Menu Shawl

DIGITAL KNITTING PATTERN available in English and German

Originally designed for the Nature’s Luxury Yarn Tasting Club in Summer 2022, the Tasting Menu Shawl shows off the characteristics and strengths of each of the three bases of lovingly hand-dyed yarn that are part of the club: 

Yarn A has wonderful stitch definition, Yarn B is a lovely linen/silk blend (which means that it does not stretch like wool) and Yarn C is an incredibly soft single-ply.

The shawl is knit sideways on the bias in different textures and techniques. The main stitch pattern is a no-purl ribbing stitch called Cartridge Belt Ribbing. The entire shawl is surrounded by a double-layered border (worked as a selvedge on two edges) that adds stability and an incredibly neat finish.

The airy asymmetrical shawl is easy to wear and is a fun accessory that shows off your favorite craft.

Yarn: 

3 colors of (Light) Fingering weight yarn

• Color A: La Parisienne by Nature‘s Luxury (100% Merino SW, 460 m / 503 yd per 100 g) in the colorways Maison Orange (pink sample) and Seine (green sample)
• Color B: Sedalino by Nature‘s Luxury (65% Mulberry Silk / 35% Linen, plied, 400 m / 437 yd per 100 g) in the colorways Blossoms in Spring (pink sample) and Soft Mint (green sample)
• Color C: On Stage – Long Métrage by Nature’s Luxury (50% Merino / 30% Mulberry Silk / 20% Baby Camel, single-ply, 400 m / 437 yd per 100 g) in the colorways La Dame Rose (pink sample) and Emerald Forest (green sample)

Gauge: 

38 sts / 38 rows = 10 cm / 4″ in Cartridge Belt Ribbing 

Measured after blocking. Gauge has an influence on the size of your finished piece and your yardage!

180 cm / 71″ length; 88 cm / 34 ½″ height

Needles: 

US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge and optimal drape); optional but recommended: start with shorter circular (60 cm / 24″ length) needles or DNPs and switch to longer circular needles (100-120 cm /40-47″) later

Das Tasting Menu-Tuch wurde speziell für den ersten Yarn Tasting Club (Sommer 2022) von Nature’s Luxury designed.

Das asymmetrische Dreieckstuch wird in drei Farben liebevoll handgefärbter Garne unterschiedlicher Qualitäten gestrickt. Dabei sind die verwendeten Techniken und Texturen so gewählt, dass sie perfekt mit den unterschiedlichen Garnen harmonieren: 

Mit Garn A kommen texturierte Muster besonders gut zur Geltung, Garn B ist ein sommerliches Leinen/Seidengarn, und Garn C ist ein unglaublich weiches unverzwirntes Garn. 

Das Hauptmuster ist ein Rippenmuster, dass ganz ohne linke Maschen auskommt. Der doppellagige Rand (der an zwei Kanten als Randmaschen gearbeitet wird) umgibt das gesamte Tuch und sorgt für Stabilität und einen sauberen Abschluss.

Tasting Menu ist ein leicht zu stylendes asymmetrisches Dreieckstuch, das als perfektes Accessoire für den Sommer oder Halstuch für den Winter viel Freude bringen wird.
