Auto Bake High to Low — Blender Add-on
Automatic UV unwrapping + PBR baking from high-poly to low-poly, in one click.
Point the add-on at your high-poly and your low-poly, hit one button, and get back a fully textured low-poly with a ready-to-render Principled BSDF material.
What it does
- Automatic UV unwrap — angle-based seams or Smart UV Project, validated before any bake starts
- Automatic resolution — reads your high-poly's textures (multi-material and UDIM aware) and picks 1K, 2K, 4K, 8K or 16K for you
- 7 PBR maps — Base Color, Normal, Roughness, Metallic, AO, Emission, Alpha
- Smart ray distances — cage and extrusion derived from your objects' real size, manual override available
- Material auto-built — every map wired into a Principled BSDF, ready to preview
- PNG export — saved next to your .blend, or packed inside it
No more broken bakes
Base Color and Roughness are read straight from the Principled BSDF inputs, so metallic and mixed shaders no longer bake to black. Pixels the rays miss keep safe fallback values (neutral grey, neutral tangent normal, 0.5 roughness, white AO) instead of turning black. AO is exported as its own map and is not multiplied into Base Color.
⚠️ Quad Remesher is NOT included
Quad Remesher (Exoside) is a separate third-party commercial add-on. It is not bundled with this purchase and no license for it is provided. You must buy it from its own vendor if you want it.
It is not required. This add-on's job is UV + baking. Bring a low-poly made any way you like — manual retopo, Decimate, Blender's Remesh, ZBrush, InstaLOD, anything. If you already own Quad Remesher, an optional one-click pipeline chains retopology → UV → bake for you (density presets 5k / 20k / 50k, or a free slider from 100 to 1,000,000 quads).
