The Mystery of the Navel Idols
The Mystery of the Navel Idols documents an intriguing global phenomenon that hints at a connection between ancient cultures. While traveling to sites and museums the world over the author discovered that many ancient cultures and civilizations produced statues and figurines that express a strikingly similar symbolic motif with their hands meeting around their navel. The cultures that created these statues and figurines were not only separated by vast distances but by vast periods of time as well. This book documents the expression of this symbolism across 21 countries and 11,000 years. Traveling to over 20 countries, the author has personally taken every photograph that appears in the book, totaling over 180, and reveals here for the first time the utter ubiquity of navel idols in the global archaeological record. Further, the author's original research reveals other intriguing patterns associated with the idols. In many cases, the idols emerge at the same time the people of a region first begin working copper or begin practicing agriculture.
